Titus was a traveling companion of Paul. He had gone to the Island of Crete, which was the early churches first missionary outreach. while in Crete, Paul writes to Titus to "Set things in order". The real theme of Phiippians is "Rejoicing". Now think about this for just a moment... If you were in prison, chained to a guard, would you be rejoicing? Paul writes to the church at Philippi while he is chained between two guards in prison in Rome. Epaphroditus is there with Paul while he is awaiting his appeal to be brought before Caesar.
